YouTube Thumbnail Downloader

Paste a YouTube video or Shorts link to see its thumbnail in every size YouTube publishes, up to HD 1280 × 720, and download the one you need.

Thumbnails are loaded straight from YouTube's public image servers into your browser. Nothing goes through our servers.

Limitations

  • HD (1280 × 720) is only available if it was uploaded or generated for that video. Older videos may only have smaller sizes; unavailable sizes are not shown.
  • This tool downloads thumbnails only. Downloading YouTube videos isn't supported, because it's against YouTube's terms.

Frequently asked questions

Why is there no HD thumbnail?

YouTube doesn't create a 1280 × 720 thumbnail for every video. We only show sizes that actually exist.

Does it work with Shorts?

Yes. Paste a youtube.com/shorts/ link and you'll get the Short's thumbnail.

Can I download the video itself?

No. Marukit doesn't download YouTube videos, because it's against YouTube's terms of service.

Can I use someone else's thumbnail?

Thumbnails are the creator's work. Ask for permission before reusing one.
