Limitations

  • Enlarging an image can't add detail; it will look softer.
  • Maximum output size is 8000 x 8000 px (lower on some phones because of browser memory limits).
  • Animated GIFs are resized as a single still frame.

Frequently asked questions

What does 'Crop to fill' do?

It scales the image so it covers the whole target size and trims the edges that stick out, keeping the centre. Nothing gets stretched.

Will resizing reduce file size?

Making an image smaller in pixels almost always reduces its file size. To reduce it further, use the Image Compressor afterwards.

Which presets are official social media sizes?

Presets are common sizes, not official requirements. Platforms change their recommendations, so check the platform's help pages if you need an exact size.
