How to Download Pinterest Videos to Your Phone or PC

When it helps to save a Pinterest video

The Save button on Pinterest is a bookmark inside Pinterest, not a file on your phone. A video file is handy when you want to watch a recipe, workout or DIY video offline, keep a copy of a video Pin you made yourself, or edit your own clip in another app.

Only download Pins you made or have permission to use, and credit the creator if you share them.

Step 1: Copy the Pin's link

1. Open the video Pin in the Pinterest app.
2. Tap Share, then Copy link. This gives you a short link that starts with pin.it/…, which works fine.
3. On a computer, open the Pin on pinterest.com and copy the address from the address bar.

Country addresses such as pinterest.co.uk or pinterest.de work too. Copy the link to one Pin, not a board or a profile.

Step 2: Paste it into the downloader

1. Open the Pinterest Video Downloader in Safari, Chrome or any browser.
2. Tap Paste. If your browser asks for permission to read the clipboard, allow it. Or tap the box and paste the link yourself; it starts automatically.
3. You'll see Fetching video... for a few seconds, then the Pin's title, creator and length.

Step 3: Choose MP4 or MP3

• MP4 (best quality) gives the sharpest version Pinterest has for that Pin, with sound.
• Lower qualities like MP4 720p HD appear when Pinterest has them. They make a smaller file.
• MP3 (audio only) keeps just the sound.

The page shows Preparing your video... (or Converting to MP3... for audio), which can take up to a minute, then Download started! Check your Downloads folder. The file is named after the Pin's title and starts with Marukit_, so it's easy to find.

Where the video goes on each device

• iPhone: in Safari, the video is in the Files app under Downloads (in Chrome, Files > On My iPhone > Chrome). To put it in your camera roll, open it, tap Share, then Save Video.
• Android: open the Files or Downloads app. Most gallery apps also show it in a Downloads album.
• Windows PC, laptop or Mac: it's in your Downloads folder.

If the Pinterest video won't download

• "Couldn't fetch this video right now. Please try again in a moment." Check that the link is to one Pin, not a board or profile. If it is, Pinterest may be slow for a moment. Wait a minute and try again.
• "No video was found in this post." The Pin is a photo, not a video. Open it on Pinterest and check that it plays.
• "This website isn't supported. Paste a TikTok, Facebook, X or Pinterest link." You copied the link of the website the Pin opens. Go back to the Pin on Pinterest and copy its own link. Some Pins only play a video that lives on another website. Those can't be downloaded here.
• "Video not found. It may have been deleted. Check the link." The Pin was removed, is on a secret board, or the link was copied only partly. Private Pins can't be downloaded.
• Idea Pins with several pages download the first video.
