Photo and Signature Size Limits for Online Applications
Exam and job portals reject photos and signatures that are too big, too small or the wrong shape. Here are the limits from official notices, each with its source and a link that opens our tool with those settings.

How to use this table
- Find your portal and check that the rule matches your own notice, because limits can change from one recruitment to the next.
- Press Open. The tool opens with that size, range and pixel size filled in.
- Choose your file, press Compress and check the exact size shown before you download.
Tips for signatures
- Sign with a black pen on plain white paper and photograph it in good light, without shadows.
- Crop close around the signature before uploading, so it isn't tiny inside a big white area.
- Tick Signature: clean white background, black and white in the tool. It makes the paper pure white, which also makes small sizes like 10-20 KB easier to reach.
- A clean signature at a tiny size like 140 x 60 px is often under 10 KB, even at the best quality. That's why the IBPS Open link doesn't fix the pixel size. If your notice requires 140 x 60 px exactly, tick Exact size in pixels and enter it; the tool tells you if the file then comes out under 10 KB.
Tips for photos
- Use a recent photo with your face clearly visible on a light or white background. Keep it in colour.
- If the form gives pixels, use the exact size option: the photo is cropped from the centre to that shape, so keep your face in the middle.
- The tool sets size and pixels only. It can't check whether a portal will accept your background, glasses or lighting.
Turning centimetres into pixels
Pixels = centimetres / 2.54 x DPI. For example, 3.5 cm at 200 DPI is about 276 px. Use the DPI your notice gives; if it gives pixels directly, use those.

Is this list official?
No. It's a summary we made from each organisation's own notice or guideline, linked in every row. The linked document is what counts.
My portal isn't listed. What should I do?
Read the size, pixel and format rules in your own notice, then open Compress Image to 20KB, 50KB or 100KB and type those numbers into the target and exact-size boxes.
Why does my file show 49.9 KB when the form says 50 KB?
We aim just under the limit so the file passes even on portals that count strictly. Some portals count 1 KB as 1,000 bytes, so the exact byte count is shown too.
